My first post here:
I set up the freeNATS vmware session:
Version: 1.01.3
Release: b
Compound: 1.01.3b
Checking for updates shows: Update (1.02.4b) Available
After I do the update, I tried the discover.php but php was not found.
Searching found php5 but no php links to it.
What document did I fail to read?
Thank you
Sol

Re: vmware session loses php after upgrade
Hi there,
So just to confirm you are running the FreeNATS virtual appliance rather than one you created yourself?
Updating FreeNATS shouldn't do anything to PHP.
Where is the PHP5 binary you have found?
If you have a PHP5 binary but not a straight php one (which is required) then maybe you could try just creating a link to it called php?
Also I'd suggest you try the conary steps listed in this news post: http://www.purplepixie.org/freenats/news.php?id=80
Hope that will resolve your problem. Can you confirm it was working fine before the freenats update? Very odd if that is the case.
Kind Regards,
Dave.

Re: vmware session loses php after upgrade
Before the update whereis showed /usr/bin/php and /usr/bin/php5
After the update, whereis is only showing /usr/bin/php5.
I will try the conory steps.

Re: vmware session loses php after upgrade
Hi,
Ok well I've tried and tried but can't replicate this. It's very strange though as more than one person has had an error with a missing php binary, perhaps my update script has a rogue rm but I can't find it!
Anyway - in case the conary doesn't work I have uploaded the php binary to put in /usr/bin/ which should then work ok.
If you need to download it, it's at:
http://www.purplepixie.org/freenats/patch/vm/220509/php -- uncompressed (4Mb), or,
http://www.purplepixie.org/freenats/pat ... php.tar.gz -- tarball (1Mb)
Let me know how you get on,
Regards,
Dave.
