Windows service monitoring

Post by paullanders » Fri Sep 18, 2009 4:49 pm

Hi Dave.

We will shortly be running a new Windows NT service that we would like to monitor in case it should stop working. Can the Windows node-side VBS script do this?

Thanks!

Paul

Hi Paul,

Sorry for the delay - been on holiday :D and then needed to wade through the not-properly-documented VBS Win32 node script :(

The short answer is yes it does monitor services on the node. Having had a quick play I'm pretty sure these are services and not simply processes. If it turns out not to be the case or whatever I'm sure I can do a bit of WMI witchcraft and add it in.

Hope that is ok for your needs.

Regards,

Dave.
