Re: Email Setup

Hi there, Emails are generated by an "Alert Action". Alert actions are setup through the Admin page and can either be a list of email addresses to send to or a list of URLs to connect to (for URL-based alerting). More information on alerts and alert actions is contained within this section of the do...

Contribute to FreeNATS

I would like to thank (again) all the people who have already contributed ideas, bugs, suggestions and time to the system. It has been a great help and (as I hope you can see) directly led to enhancements and fixes. But there is always more to do so... If you have some spare time, an unhealthy love ...

JavaScript and XML "Concept" API

Please ignore the documentation and links in this post - there is now proper documentation available for the API on the main site Ok there is a "concept" (I haven't added that many query types) API available in 0.04.17a (the current development release which also includes the new DNS tests which ar...

Amazing Artwork

As promised Dr Watso has an original piece of high-res FreeNATS artwork winging it's way through the ether to his mailbox, trash folder and ultimately to deletion. So far as the only non-me poster he is the only winner of such a sought-after* and highly valued prize**. To tantalise anyone else into ...

Windows (again)...

On a bored whim I grabbed a vanilla Win2003 SBS host, installed PHP (with IIS CGI, GD, MySQL, IMAP, Sockets etc...), installed MySQL 5, created a database, downloaded FreeNATS into a web-published directory, edited config.inc.php, navigated to firstrun and "php tester.sh" 'd the non-threaded tester ...

DNS Testing

I have finally finished my PHP DNS API and integrated it into FreeNATS along with some simple DNS tests. This is now available in the 0.04.16a release now up for alpha testing. The functionality is not yet documented so I thought I'd post a few details here for testers/early adopters. Simple DNS Que...

Re: The first test is the longest...

Hello again, ...for the future notes, if you do decide to use the DNS caching; it would be on the nice side to have a test that makes a DNS request of your choice! Not only could it be used for testing the internal DNS servers, but you could also use it to test the external DNS sources your servers ...

Re: The Road Ahead...

Hello! Well that was quick and when I plug my scanner in a highly valued and sought-after original early schema will be winging it's way to you. Just thought I'd chime in as one of the users who would love to see a "native" win32 version Ok then... Win32 native. A few questions which are mainly what...

Update: The first test is the longest...

Well... over the weekend I put in a simple delay feature in test-threaded.sh. This is now being tested but will allow you to specify a delay using the tests.spawndelay variable. See the picture below for what a difference it makes compared to the original all-at-once method. The delay was enabled fo...
